Why we started with delivery
In September 2024, the Uruguayan paper Crónicas interviewed Martín Piñeyro, Swapy's CEO, for its Empresas & Negocios section. The conversation explains something Uruguay had treated as solved: the energy transition had reached buses and taxis, but not last-mile delivery. The reasons were range, charging time and, above all, price.

What happened next
The interview predates the launch. Swapy has since run its pilot at Zonamerica and opened the swap cabinet network at service stations in Montevideo.
